Where Is the Party Cove on Lake Eufaula?

Lake Eufaula lies 63 miles west of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and 110 miles east of Oklahoma City, just south of the Ozark Mountain foothills in eastern Oklahoma. This sprawling lake covers 102,000 acres of sparkling water and thrilling scenery. Lake Eufaula is known for beautiful beaches, swimming, watersports, and wildlife. Plus, Lake Eufaula boasts a thriving party cove.

“The Cut”—is the name of Lake Eufaula’s party cove. The cut is a bit north of the eastern Canadian River pool. Boats tie up and raft together. There is a large beach, girls dance on boat decks, people play in the water, and play beach games. The Cut provides adult entertainment and is not a family friendly party cove.

The Cut

Where Is “The Cut” on Lake Eufaula?

The specific directions to The Cut are a bit complicated because of Lake Eufaula’s vast size. On land, the town of Podrum, Oklahoma, is only seven miles east of The Cut on OK SH-2. It is midway on the eastern side of Lake Eufaula.

The Cut lies east of the confluence of Duchess Creek and Mud Creek on the Texanna arm of Lake Eufaula just north of the eastern Canadian River pool which stretches east from the middle of Lake Eufaula. On the water, The Cut is between Porum Landing Recreational Area on the east and the point at the western end of the peninsula south of the Texanna Road Bridge.

Duchess Creek flows into this pool from the north and Mud Creek from the east. The two creek’s confluence is just east of the Texanna arm of Lake Eufaula. A peninsula juts out between the Texanna arm and the confluence of the creeks. The Cut is on the south side of that peninsula.

Texanna Road comes out of Podrum, Oklahoma, going west, follows along the north of The Cut, bridges over the lake to west from the peninsula, and ends at the edge of Texanna, Oklahoma, west of and across the bridge from The Cut. The whole area of Duchess Creek, Mud Creek, and Podrum Landing Recreational Area offers a hopping social scene with the nearest boat ramp to The Cut.

Sissy Beach

The Sissy Beach Party Spot at Longtown on Lake Eufaula

Longtown, Oklahoma, is a popular hotspot for older folks on Lake Eufaula. It is conveniently located near local shops and restaurants. Longtown is on a peninsula jutting out on the southern side of the western pool of the Canadian River arm on the lake. Sissy beach is the party spot at Longtown.

Sissy Beach is the place to hang out with an older crowd than that of The Cut. It offers a sandy white beach with deep and shallow waters. Many boats come through this party spot. The water is cool and refreshing and some trees give a little shade. With swimming holes and beautiful cliffs, Sissy Beach features a great party spot near Longtown and not too far from Eufaula, Oklahoma, to the north.

Two highways cross the western Canadian River arm, US 68 and OK SH-9 and connect Longtown and Eufaula. The best way to get to Longtown and Eufaula on land is either by US 69’s north/south route or SH-9’s east/west route. There are three boat ramps near Longtown, the Highway 9 North Boat Ramp, Highway 9 South Boat Ramp, and Highway 9 South Boat Ramp 2.
